Spec. 5 Steven Bale was killed in an automobile accident at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Spec. Bale was undergoing warrant officer candidate training at Ft. Hunter Army Air Base at the time of his death.

Warrant OfficerTimothy Michael was a helicopter pilot whose Scout Helicopter received heavy ground fire and crashed while flying a scouting mission in Quang Tin, Vietnam.  He is survived by a wife and son.

Death:  Sept 23, 1972

USMC

 

1st Lt. Henry Pilger, a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, died in a helicopter crash at Grytoya Island, Norway, while participating in the Joint NATO Operation "Strong Express."  He is survived by a wife and daughter.
